Renowned composer, multi-instrumentalist and artist Janie Price aka Bird releases an exclusive remaster of her single 'Falling Like Stars' on December 5th 2024.

Originally released on her critically acclaimed debut album 'The Insides' – it is available on all major streaming platforms, inviting listeners to share some of the Christmas magic Bird felt while writing it three days before Christmas just over 20 years ago.

Bird co-wrote 'Falling Like Stars' with award winning song writer Einar Tonsberg (Lorien, Feldberg, Eberg). Recorded 20 years ago at Mickey Rowe’s (High Flying Birds, Sheryl Crowe) old studio, The Chocolate Factory in London. Just a few days before Christmas, Bird and Einar, almost out of money (and only still in the studio due to Mickey’s total generosity letting them record at night for a very heavy discount), were scuppered by a power cut, so a late night recording session was paused to buy pizza from the local Sainsbury's. In the next aisle to the food battery fairy lights were on sale… they had light! Back in the studio with (half) warm pizza and the lights strung over the studio piano and with the help of an old tape dictaphone Bird always carried, alongside Einar’s three string guitar, Falling Like Stars was born..

“Some songs take weeks of planning, tweaking, coaxing gently into shape and some are born as if not even from the writers..I love those ones, they feel like magical gifts, like they are written by the universe and as artists we’re just the conduit to realise the idea…

As it was so close to Christmas I was thinking a lot about the family I didn’t have around me, about the lost friends I wouldn’t be able to spend another Christmas with and about how it would be if we ever got to meet again one day.. When this song was first released a fan wrote to me to tell me he had played the song while his child was sick in hospital and it had helped them..I felt very humbled to have been able, thanks to this song, to support them. I hope this remaster, which has for me, really sonically brought the track to life - thanks to Sam John (Precise Mastering) - continues to bring peace, healing and maybe even a little joy.. especially at this time of year when we miss the people we can’t be with the most..”
