I’ve been wanting to fish this area on the new Maelstrom 380 HD ever since getting the boat. It’s one of those places where you feel a lot more comfortable in a big SIB and you can really get stuck into the fishing.

I really wanted to fish big soft plastics on this session, not only does allow you to fish directly with the lure in fairly deep water, it also grabs the attention of the bigger fish! There were some fantastic pollock throughout the day but the Couches Bream gave me the biggest smile. To catch one on a jig that really imitates their favourite prey on a spinning rod has to be the most satisfying method of inshore fishing.
