2023 Mercedes-Maybach S480 in-depth Walkaround

The 2023 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is the epitome of luxury cars, catering to the world's wealthiest. As they travel between their rooftop helipad and their Hamptons estate, they can relax in a spacious and posh cabin. The Maybach offers two powertrain options, a twin-turbo V-8 or V-12, to suit their needs.

The S 480 model boasts a 367 PS engine with a nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel drive. This setup allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds, reaching a top speed of 250 km/h. The Maybach also features a 48-volt mild hybrid EQ Boost system, providing additional assistance of up to 22 PS and 250 Nm when necessary.

The Maybach S-Class is also available in other markets as the S 580 Matic and S 680 4Matic. The S 680 4Matic boasts a powerful 6.0 litre biturbo V12 engine with 630 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque. The S 580 Matic, on the other hand, is equipped with a 4.0 litre biturbo V8 that generates 489 PS and 700 Nm of torque.

The Maybach S-Class measures 5,470 mm, making it 150 mm longer than the long-wheelbase S-Class. This added bodywork provides ample space for rear passengers, who will enjoy individual seats surrounded by luxury features such as electric-powered doors, a panoramic glass sunroof, a 15-speaker Burmester sound system, and a 64-colour ambient lighting system. The full Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) system, including rear-seat entertainment, and premium trim materials add to the overall premium experience.
