President Trump attacked special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation in his speech to the National Rifle Association.

"They tried for a coup. Didn't work out so well. And I didn't need a gun for that one, did I? All was taking place at the highest levels of Washington, DC."

The special counsel's investigation concluded that there was no evidence to support that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia, but the report detailed the president's efforts to shut down the investigation.
