Forgotten woodlines of the Perth Hills

Описание к видео Forgotten woodlines of the Perth Hills

Not only were there extensive private railway lines in the goldfields of WA transporting timber, there were also many in the Perth hills area too. Some of the roads in the hills were once part of those railway lines. Old mills towns have disappeared completely, but the railway formations are still visible, if you know what to look for.

WA4WD is a dedicated to exploring the outback of Western Australia. The team travels to remote areas for off the grid bush camping. The Aussie Bush Cook prepares all our meals in the bush. The WA4WD team believes we should do no damage to the bush, ourselves or our vehicles (they are needed to get us home).

The WA4WD team have been camping in the outback for more than 50 years, but we continue to learn from each trip. The team must make repairs without assistance if necessary. Water conservation is very important when away from civilisation.

The team looks for abandonned towns, lost cemeteries and forgotten railway lines. The focus is generally from the Pilbara south.

If anyone can see another camper, then we are too close.

Two members trained with the Australian Army many decades ago and use those bush skills to find tracks and navigate through the outback.
