VIDEO CONTENTS:
[0:00] What is glazing?
[2:30] Making dyestocks
0.5% stock solutions - 1/2 gram dye in 100 mL liquid
1.25 g each color, 250 mL volume
[3:55] Prototyping to get the color proportions right
Crazy 8 DK, presoaked for a couple of days
1 cup of water, dye.
For 20 g minis and using 0.5% Stock solutions
16 mL pink
12 mL pink + 3 mL purple
10 mL purple
5 mL purple + 5 mL navy
10 mL navy
Waited 10 min, then added 1 tsp white vinegar to each container, covered and set aside.
[5:32] Can I cold process glazed yarn?
1 cup water + same amount of dye as above. Added 2 T white vinegar to each container before adding the yarn.
dunk the yarn in water before adding to the containers?
wait an hour before moving things
[9:18] DOS of our three colors
2% DOS to a 0.1% DOS depending on the color
1 cup of water, 2 T white vinegar
[10:39] Leave no dye behind
24 cups of water, 1 cup of white vinegar. Layered these colors on one at a time

using 1% stock solutions of the three colors
20 cups of cool tap water, 475 mL white vinegar. I intended to use 1.5 cups, which would be closer to 375 mL but I miss measured.
I dyed 240 g of yarn in each batch (extra bases). Dyes at the same proportions as before.
heat for 30 minutes
(no acid in presoak and no pre-dunking)
Off camera batch - 32 cups water, 500 mL vinegar, 400 g yarn, and dye at same ratios - weighed directly
[19:33] Sock Blanks version 1
40 mL pink orchid dye, dip dyed 2 blanks into it (same dyebath setup)
20 mL purple, then 50 mL navy
[20:44] Sock Blanks Version 2
covered with leftover dyebath, 0.3 g pink, 0.15 - 0.17 g purple and navy. dissolved each in 1.5 cups water. poured onto yarn and let sit.
