This week, The Gravity Well welcomes members of the Alberta Council for Environmental Education (ACEE). Andrea Murphy is a licensed social worker in Canmore, Alberta with environmental, anti-oppressive, and evidence-based practice expertise. Kip Monaghan and Nicole Chang are Alberta’s Environmental Education and Engagement Coordinators for ACEE. They are focused on the "Green Jobs" program to highlight green opportunities for students. And Lise Mayne, a 32-year retired principal and teacher, turned nest box monitor for Rocky Mountain Bluebirds and swallows for over eight years. She is now a board member of the Calgary Area Nest Box Monitor’s Society (CANMS): an organization that monitors and collects bird data to share with organizations to aid environmental conservation communication.

Each of us explores what led us to our work, what drives us, and what common principles bring us together. Enjoy listening to a wealth of knowledge and opportunities in environmental education!

In the spirit of truth, I acknowledge I am a settler on stolen Blackfoot Treaty 7 territory and Metis Districts 5 and 6 lands. I take reconciliACTION by seeking the wisdom of elders and individuals who aim to restore water, air, land, life, or community. A healthy living relationship with the earth and each other is our guide.
