In this Let's Play video, you will see me play the Campaign Mode of Cataclismo (Early Access Release). Cataclismo is a Survival City Builder, Real Time Strategy, Base Building, and Tower Defense game all rolled into one. This game is a mix of various genre with mechanics that are familiar in many popular games. You'll get "They Are Billions", "Age of Darkness: The Last Stand", "Diplomacy Is Not An Option" vibes from the playing the city builder missions. At night the Horrors attack your base in waves, so you need to spend your day quickly gathering resources and building your defenses. You'll also need to build platforms for your combat units to stand on and shoot from. Lots of "Stronghold" mechanics here. You'll get some "Timberborn" vibes when building vertically high platforms and needing to place stairs to create a path to the Citadel. In the City Building missions, you will need to collect oxygen as a resource to sustain your villagers. Air purifiers need to be placed really high up. Some "Oxygen Not Include" vibes going on here. There is an expedition map that you need to pick your next mission from and a Citadel Upgrade Meta Progression too. Completing missions will earn you knowledge points to spend on your Citadel Meta Upgrade. "Against the Storm" vibes here! The story and premise of the game is fantastic. The presentation and voice over really great. I love the artistic style. It reminds me of the "Synergy" game. I highly recommend adding Cataclismo to your Steam Wishlist. This game comes out on July 22!
