The Good Work Plan brings changes to employment law which come into effect from 6th April 2020. Currently employers are able to issue a Written Statement of Particulars within 8 weeks of a member of staff starting work if they are expected to be employed for more than 1 month. However, from 6th April 2020, members of staff will need to be issued with their Written Statement of Particulars either before they start work or on their first day of employment. The information which is contained wit0hin the Written Statements of Particulars will now extend to include:
If the employee w0ill be entitled to any paid leave such as maternity / paternity leave
What hours and0 days the employee will be expected to work and if these will vary, how.
If there will be a probationary period
If there are any benefits offered to the member of staff
What training they can expect to receive and what training will be mandatory
