In 2007, a small group of Bostonians gave birth to Boston Comic Con. It was a show that was focused entirely on comicbook creators. They started with 1,000 guests in their first year and ended in 2016 with over 50,000 attendees. The original Boston Comic Con owners sold their show to FanExpo! After a 6 year hiatus, that same team of organizers got together to work on producing a new show! They wanted to create an event that went back to their foundation. In 2022, Boston was reintroduced to comic book convention that celebrates the storytellers. They called it, Wicked Comic Con.
