Yngwie Malmsteen's 2 String Arpeggios

Описание к видео Yngwie Malmsteen's 2 String Arpeggios

I got a question on TikTok if I had any tips on how to approach the 2 string arpeggios that Yngwie plays during the first movement of Trilogy Suite Op. 5 from the Trilogy album.

Yngwie J. Malmsteen is a guitar virtuoso and a mastermind. He figured out all of this stuff on his own as a kid. It keeps blowing my mind!

Anyways, here's how I appraoch these two-string arpeggios.
Essentially, I use economy picking, or sweep picking. In this case, it's pretty much the same thing - so don't be confused! :)

These arpeggios where tricky because they were played vastly different that how I am used to playing two-string arpeggios. I'm going into more details in the video, but in short, I typically start on the first string and then just jump between the first and the second string, rinse and repeat. But if I am to learn a thing or two from Yngwie, I have to do it his way.

Also, I want to mention that he does play 2-string arpeggios differently on various tracks! The reason being that it produces different sounds depending on where you start and how you play them.

In case you didn't know, Yngwie is influenced by classical composers such as Niccolò Paganini and Johann Sebastian Bach, and I think these arpeggios are inspired by some of their works.
