One thing we've learned very quickly when we jumped into this homesteading lifestyle is that homesteading is anything but cheap! It takes money, time and energy to run this lil farm of ours! Thus we have yet to invest in a tractor. Someday right? Ahhhh a girl can dream!

So for now, Joe and I maneuver these large round bales of hay around the farm any old way we can, most of the time with our own brute strength!

In today's video we show you one of our homemade, homestead hay feeders that we built. Naturally as the cows gather 'round to enjoy their hay, the ground gets mucky with everything you can think of!

So today we are cutting the legs off of our hay feeders to make them mobile so that we can rotate them around the pastures each time we put in a new bale!

We didn't think of how mucky the ground would get around the feeders, eh...ya learn as you go! That's part of this lifestyle too! You learn, you grow and you get better each day :)
