How to repair jam ceiling fan | ceiling fan servicing | How to clean & grease ceiling fan bearings

In this video you will learn how to repair jam ceiling fan or if you just want to do the service the process will be the same. If you fan is not rotating with the speed which it should be then it might be started to get jammed or if its already rotating slow on high speed set then its already jammed. Ceiling fan always to jammed due to the bearings , if the bearing grease dried out or the water goes into them somehow then they will jammed and ceiling fan will not rotate at ll or rotate on slow speeds.
First of all open the three screws holding the covers together then open all the wire connections. Then use a screwdriver to split the top and bottom cover. Once both cover got separated inspect the bearing by rotating them and you will get the idea which one is jammed .Once you find out which one need servicing open it.In most of the cases top one jammed , so you need to remove the armature from the top cove to get access to the bearing . For removing the armature all you need to place the fan upside-down and push the top cover plate , they will get separated , if not then you can try the other method in the video link below.
After getting access to the bearing you can see its condition and now to clean it properly you need a special tool bearing puller to get the bearing out. Its a good idea to clean both of the bearing regarding there condition , it will increase there life. You need to clean them with the help of kerosene or petrol nothing else. Soak the bearing for 5-10 min then clean them with the help of a brush. Once cleaned dry them with the help of a cloth and tap them so any remaining dirt comes out and then let them further dry for 10 - 15 min . Do clean the bearing seats if they are dirty to. After completely dried apply the grease to the bearing and do try to push the grease inside the groves where the roller rotates.
After greasing clean the extra grease from the places it should be . Then apply a drop of engine or gear oil on the outer diameter of the bearing which will ease the process of installing and remove of the bearing. Take a pipe piece slightly less in the diameter to the bearing seat but cover the bearing outer diameter bushing. Then place the bearing on its place and then pipe piece over it and start hammer until it goes all the way down. Repeat this on the other bearing. And now install everything back in the opposite back of disassembly.
