Описание к видео Expressing wishes in French with JE VOUDRAIS and J'AIMERAIS

In this Q&A-style video, teachers Mark and Pierre-Benoît from Coffee Break French answer learner Deborah's question about the difference between the phrases "je voudrais" and "j'aimerais", which both roughly translate as "I would like" in English. In this video, we'll give examples of phrases using the verbs "vouloir" and "aimer" in a range of different contexts.

Here are the phrases included in this video:
• je voudrais un café
• j'aimerais un café
• je voudrais partir à 17h
• j'aimerais partir à 17h
• pour son prochain voyage elle voudrait aller au Vietnam
• pour son prochain voyage elle aimerait aller au Vietnam
• ils voudraient apprendre le français
• ils aimeraient apprendre le français

Make sure you watch the full video to hear a full explanation about when to use each of these two verbs. We've provided subtitles in English which can be turned on using the Subtitles/CC button.
