After the wisdom tooth (or teeth) is extracted, you will usually have to bite down gently on some gauze for anywhere from thirty to forty-five minutes after leaving your dentist’s office.

Doing this will limit any bleeding that could occur post procedure. There could be some pain as well as swelling that could occur which is normal. This will go away within a few days.
