Where We Stand | Episode 2: First-Generation, Lower-Income Students

Around 19% of the incoming 2028 class is first generation and less than 3% of students come from the bottom 20% of household incomes. Those in these categories are considered "First-Gen, Low-Income." We gathered six members of this community to analyze the varying beliefs across FGLI students

Inspired by the Jubilee Spectrum video series, Where We Stand is a project aimed at uncovering the diverse beliefs within individualized groups. In each video, Penn students from a specific community are asked to express their opinions on a spectrum, regarding several stereotypes and beliefs about their community. They are then prompted to discuss their responses. Note that students are speaking on their own behalf rather than on behalf of their group affiliations.
