Arriving at Chatsworth Park Caravan and Motorhome Club site, Baslow, Bakewell, Derbyshire, UK

This video shows our arrival at Chatsworth Park Caravan and Motorhome club site, September 2024. We had travelled to Chatsworth Park from Buxton CMC site and we stopped off at Aldi (Ashford Road, Bakewell) to get some shopping, mainly to kill some time because... the estimated drive time from Buxton to Chatsworth was 33 minutes, and we had to be off our pitch at 12 in Buxton but could not arrive at Chatsworth Park until 1pm. Thankfully, the wardens at Buxton did let me 'linger' a little longer and it was 12.30pm when we set out for Chatsworth Park. It was a straight forward journey via A5270, and A6020.

There are some rather large pot holes on the approach road to the site, so please take care and try to avoid them.

We had booked a 'Blue peg' - a standard pitch without awning, and we chose pitch number 56 on arrival.

Once you have pitched up you then go to the reception and collect the key to the door/gate into the grounds of Chatsworth Park. Please be aware that as you approach the gate, other people might be coming back on site from the other side and open the gate - it made me jump a few times.

It is about a 20 minute walk from the door/gate to Chatsworth House itself. There is a shop and restaurant/cafe in the 'coach house' (stables) area of the house with is at the top of a slight slope at the side of the house.

Dogs must be kept on a lead both on site and also whilst in the grounds of Chatsworth house. There is a small area close to the 'Door/gate' on site, that you can go into and close a gate and let your dog exercise off lead.

While we were there, (Rolo and I), dogs were allowed in the coach house area of Chatsworth and also allowed into the shop. Please check though as rules can change.
