Based in Lurgan for a community training survey of Shankill graveyard John Tierney took an early morning walk around the town in order to see the graveyard in its urban context especially in terms of the relationship with Lurgan Workhouse. The Workhouse had one of the highest death rates for any Irish Poor Law Union.
