In this episode, we will cover the Battle of Palo Alto, fought on what was then disputed territory between Mexico and the United States. The battle took place on May 8th, 1846. During the Mexican American War, the Mexican Army of the North attempted to block the American Army of Occupation from reaching Fort Texas, located on the north shore of the Rio Grande where 500 American soldiers were surrounded by additional Mexican forces.
