Marple to Ashton-Under-Lyne - Peak Forest Canal

Описание к видео Marple to Ashton-Under-Lyne - Peak Forest Canal

Join Jan and Don on the final 8.5 mile section of the Peak Forest Canal - it's a wildlife special.

Starting from Marple station they walk to the aqueduct and through over the Hydebank Tunnel, leading to an encounter with giant rhubarb, which upon investigation has a rather unexpected use.

The lads then pass by a bush crafter's paradise before entering the 160 metre long Woodley Tunnel. Jan takes the lead with his head torch but it is not sufficient to stop Don slipping in the only mud.

There is friendly geese upset before passing the splendid remains of Unity Mills where Jan finds himself at loss due to Wotsits losing at Pub Top Trumps.

Onwards through the M67 motorway tunnel to Hyde where things get more industrial and a mysterious aquatic car sparks more geese upset. However, Jan carries on undeterred as he sorts out even more geese upset on the way to Dukinfield.

Finally the lads reach Portland Basin at the junction of the Ashford and Huddersfield Narrow Canal. Jjob done, but not before a sign off which is interrupted by dive-bombing pigeons.

Jan gives a masterclass in geese obedience and Don worries about wearing a funny hat in a city.
