Join us on a walking tour of Avenue J, a bustling and vibrant street in the heart of Brooklyn. Starting at the intersection of Coney Island Avenue, we will make our way westward towards Flatbush, passing through the neighborhoods of Midwood and Ditmas Park.

Our first stop will be at the corner of Coney Island Avenue and Avenue J, where we will admire the beautiful art deco façade of the landmark Loew's Kings Theatre. Originally built in 1929 as a grand movie palace, the theatre has been beautifully restored in recent years and now serves as a local cultural hub, hosting live performances and events.

Continuing along Avenue J, we will pass by a wide variety of shops and restaurants, ranging from traditional Jewish delis to trendy boutiques and coffee shops. We will also see many examples of the famous “Ditmas Park Victorian” architecture, with their ornate woodwork and colorful facades.

As we approach Ocean Avenue, we will turn south and head towards the campus of Brooklyn College, one of the largest public universities in the city. Here, we will see stunning examples of mid-century modern architecture, including the iconic suspension bridge and towering library building.

Our final leg of the tour will take us back towards Flatbush, via Farragut Avenue. Along the way, we will pass by charming row houses and tree-lined streets, before eventually arriving at the bustling intersection of Flatbush and Nostrand Avenues.

Throughout the tour, our knowledgeable guide will provide insights into the history and culture of the area, as well as pointing out interesting landmarks and hidden gems. Whether you are a lifelong Brooklyn resident or a first-time visitor, this walking tour of Avenue J is a great way to experience the many wonders of this thriving and diverse neighborhood.
