Highlights from Donna Summer performing at The Oscars. The song 'Last Dance' won the Oscar for Best Original Song from the disco movie 'Thank God It's Friday' which also starred Summer. Also included here is the acceptance speech by Paul Jabara, songwriter of 'Last Dance'. Jabara went on to write several hit songs for others including his number one dream duet 'Enough Is Enough (No More Tears)' with Summer and the legendary Barbra Streisand.

In 1984 Summer returned to the Oscars to perform the Oscar nominated song 'Papa Can You Hear Me' from the movie Yentl . The performance came at the request of Streisand who produced, starred and sang on the soundtrack of the nominated film. 'The Way He Makes Me Feel' from the same soundtrack was also nominated and sung by Jennifer Holiday at this same ceremony. 'Flashdance...What A Feeling' by Irene Cara ended up winning the award that year.

There was a finale that year which was a tribute to the late Ethel Merman. An all-star ensemble cast from the evening including Liza Minelli, Sammy Davis Jr., Neil Diamond, Summer and more came out to sing 'There's No Business Like Show Business'. If you look closely you can see Summer and Cara embrace as well as many other big names of stage screen and song.

The Oscars. Glamour. Glitz and wonderful everlasting performances from a night dedicated to the stars of stage, screen and song. Hooray for Hollywood!!
