The items included are unbelievable from a 1991 Atelier Versace catsuit, a 1957 haute couture Pierre Balmain, a Chanel Kitmir embroidered coat from 1922, and a 1925 Lanvin robe de style. All these items are rarities that don’t come up for auction, and since the increased interest in vintage private collectors and museums have been actively seeking items because their unique nature and history they carry.

Doris’ auction generated much attention as her reputation in the vintage and fashion forum is held in such high regard. Designers like Martin Margiela wrote, “I remain astonished by her uniqueness, the depth of her knowledge and-above all-her touching persona.” John Galliano wrote, “Destination all things Doris, is one of my most precious occupations. I learn so much each visit. This magical place with hidden treasures an endless source of inspiration, oxygen to all creatives.”
