Conclusion: Two endings trying different things. It was an interesting title, dated but the D&D combat is D&D combat. Some triggers broke, like Zraxis sister which we found her robe, wouldn't leave at that point. Can't say I wasn't entertained. It was hard but I can't imagine the original was harder, it might be all these additional things in Circle of Eight. The last Troika game is Arcanum, but that will be covered next year (2026ish).

Intro:
Disclaimer I am a noob at DnD. I owned the 3.5 rule set and played the sample campaign but never really go into it. There was a summer in '04 I spent on the forums playing as a DM but that was a small window. Most of my experience comes from Neverwinter Nights (the 2002 game with all it's expansions). Planescape Torment (never beat it), Baldurs Gate 3 (never beat it) and I think that's about it. I beat Knights of the Old Republic which I believe used the D20 system but that's it. So there will be a lot of reading, a lot of trial and error, reloading if I am losing terribly, etc.

It is safe to say this is not a nuanced or power gaming moment but a total noob trying to figure things out.
