Auguste Comte, a French philosopher and sociologist, introduced the concepts of Social Statics and Social Dynamics in his work "Cours de Philosophie Positive" (1830-1842). These concepts are fundamental to the division of sociology, which aims to understand the structure and evolution of societies.

Social Statics:

Social Statics focuses on the study of social order, stability, and equilibrium. It examines the underlying structures, institutions, and social norms that maintain social harmony and balance. Comte believed that social statics provides a foundation for understanding how societies function and how they can be maintained and improved.

Social Dynamics:

Social Dynamics, on the other hand, explores the processes of social change, progress, and development. It analyzes how societies evolve over time, driven by factors like technological advancements, cultural exchange, and conflict. Comte saw social dynamics as a means to understand how societies can be improved and reformed.
