This dedicated cycleway runs along Young Street in the heart of Neutral Bay, providing a vital link to the bustling town centre and village. Stretching between Grosvenor and Sutherland Streets, this project completes a crucial section of the broader cycling network in our area. For those who have been eagerly awaiting a safer and more direct route to access local shops, cafes, and amenities by bike, the wait is finally over.  

The Young Street Cycleway boasts several key features designed with your safety and convenience in mind. Cyclists can now enjoy a dedicated or separated path, providing a comfortable and secure riding experience away from vehicle traffic. A significant highlight of this project is its seamless connection to the newly upgraded intersection of Young and Grosvenor Streets, which now features raised pedestrian and bicycle crossings. This includes a raised 'wombat' crossing, a design specifically lauded for prioritizing the safety of pedestrians and cyclists while encouraging motorists to maintain appropriate speeds in this busy area. Furthermore, in response to valuable community feedback, the design now incorporates an additional pedestrian and cyclist crossing on the southern side of the intersection, further enhancing accessibility and safety for everyone.
