About Sabar Samaj :

Sabar Samaj Kalyan Samiti (SSKS) was founded by Late Pradhani Gomango of N. Jhalersing of Nuagada Block of Gajapati District on 17/10/1979 and declared on 20/05/1980 for its set up and obtain legal status with vision of free, healthy, unity, peace, brotherhood, self reliant society and developed society. Since then, it grows gradually in Sabar tribe/ community in Nuagada, R.Udaygiri, Mohana, Rayagada, Gumma and Gosani Blocks Gajapati District. Then it spreads and operates in Chikiti, Patrapur, Digapandi, Sanakhemundi, Soroda Block of Ganjam District and Blocks like Gunpur, Ramanaguda and Padmapur operates in Rayagada District respectively. Presently, it works among 8100 Households in 32 Kendras (Centers) and 6 Mandals (Zones) in three Districts in the field of Socio-cultural, Socio-economic, health, education, Livelihood, gender equity, good governance, tribal rights, child rights, awareness, relief and rescue measures in disasters, promoting peace, harmony, brotherhood, ethic, moral values and works for eradication of Social evils to build a free, healthy, self-reliant society.

Our society has been focusing and working on the issues like Child Labour, Girl Child, malnutrition, indebtedness, poverty, illiteracy, child marriage, child trafficking, migration, control of natural resources, exploitations, gender equity, education, community health, HIV/AIDS, uneconomical landholding and organic farming, employment, sanitation, safe drinking water, communications, village governance etc. It has been also inspiring youths and transforming community.

Work with Govt. Agencies and NGOs for holistic social development.

Advocacy and Network on principles and goals that GO and NGOs on issues of common interest.

Ensure tribal participation in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation process including in self-Governance.
