Описание к видео Enterovirus: Why YOU Get a ‘COLD’ in the Middle of Summer – and How to Beat It

Summer colds are real – Enterovirus is more active in hot weather, especially June to October, and thrives in warm water.

Common symptoms – Fever, sore throat, fatigue, runny nose, cough, diarrhea, nausea; in kids, sometimes mouth sores or a rash on hands and feet.

How it spreads – Mainly via respiratory droplets, close contact, contaminated water (rivers, lakes, pools, sea), and the fecal–oral route.

Children are most at risk – Adults get it less often because they already have immunity to several types.

High-risk environments – Crowded settings like summer camps, military barracks, sports teams, and refugee shelters increase spread.

Best pain & fever relief – Ibuprofen (200–400 mg every 8 hrs) is most effective; paracetamol is also good but less strong.

Sore throat soothers – Warm saline gargles, topical anesthetic sprays/lozenges, and honey-based drinks bring significant relief.

For congestion – Intranasal corticosteroids work best (70% relief in 3 days), followed by decongestants like oxymetazoline or pseudoephedrine.

Support recovery – Stay hydrated (2–3 liters/day), get 7–9 hours of sleep, eat protein-rich foods, and alternate rest with light activity.

Prevention works – Frequent handwashing, avoiding touching your face, disinfecting surfaces, and avoiding contaminated water are the most effective measures.
