ਇਹ ਮੰਤਰ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਵਸਤੂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮੂਲ ਮੰਤਰ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ, "ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਜਿਸਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਹੈ।"
