Chinese Postpartum Meals | 月子餐

Описание к видео Chinese Postpartum Meals | 月子餐

What is Zuo Yuezi?
Talking about the first month of postpartum, in traditional Chinese culture, people believe that by following the practice of “sitting the month” (aka zuo yue zi), new moms can achieve a healthy recovery from giving birth and avoid lifelong health issues.
The practice is accompanied by eating certain dietary meals, and following some age-old rules like avoid the use of AC, no drinking of cold water, or no washing hair. The latter rules are pretty extreme. That said, I followed mostly just the dietary rules as I think a consistent period of nutritious meals will help me recover & support breastfeeding.

Why did I choose to order Yuezi Meal?
Even though my parents are here to help, they don’t have any experience in preparing Yuezi meal.
So I decided to order the Yuezi meal from the professionals, and save my parents some time and energy.

Food is not too salty.

How did it work?
Every morning, my dad will pick up the food and microwave it for me.
Each week’s food has different functions:
1st week meals: help to eliminate lochia, promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, and help to make milk
2nd week meals: strengthen uterine contraction and pelvic recovery, strengthen diuresis to reduce edema and restore body shape
3rd & 4th week meals: recover physical strength & replenish vitality
