Philanthropy has enabled Levine Cancer Institute to rapidly accomplish things no one thought possible just 5 years ago. Over the past five years, Carolinas HealthCare System has invested over $250 million from private philanthropy and our own resources to modernize, enhance, and enlarge the quality and scope of services offered by Levine Cancer Institute.

We promised a lot when we opened Levine Cancer Institute, and we delivered on those promises: recruiting talented specialists from across the nation, opening a state-of-the-art blood and marrow transplant unit, developing a network of more than 25 cancer care locations across the Carolinas, building one of the largest cancer navigation programs in the country, and delivering early-stage clinical research to patients in need.

As exceptional stewards of philanthropic resources, we now seek your help to further transform the way people are treated for cancer in the Carolinas. Our goal by 2020 is to increase our investment toward a goal of $500 million to expand and enhance cancer services. We ask that you join us in this most critically important endeavor by committing to these investments in facilities, patient care, and research.

FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

Numerous giving and recognition opportunities will exist within the newly expanded Levine Cancer Institute, from research laboratories and an expanded blood and marrow transplant unit, to visitor spaces and areas of healing and respite. In addition, endowment funding is needed to sustain faculty chairs, enhance survivorship and rehabilitation programs, and eliminate
disparities in care and prevention.
