August 8th 2024 Long Island Metro Fishing Report with Matthew Broderick

Cobia remain a very targetable species during the last week from the boat and now the surf with confirmed reports. The east end of the island is still hosting a good shot of bluefin tuna to over 100 pounds. Fluking held its own in the South Shore bays again with action and keepers. Also, as a reminder, the fluke size limit has now increased to 19-1/2 inches and will remain that until the end of the season. The bag limit stays the same at three fish per person. We also give you another Open Boat episode this week, a look at another ICAST product that will help remove hooks from maybe you or another angler and some tackle shop tips on light fluke fishing.
