Defending Democracy in Exile: 2024 Mark Palmer Prize Panel and Reception

To celebrate our 2024 Mark Palmer Prize winners—a group of officials from the US Department of State and US Agency for International Development involved in Operation Nica Welcome—Freedom House hosted a panel discussion with human rights defenders from around the world, including:

• Juan Lorenzo Holmann Chamorro, Newspaper Publisher and Former Political Prisoner
• Frances Hui, Policy and Advocacy Coordinator, The Committee for Freedom in Hong Kong Foundation

The conversation was moderated by Nicole Bibbins Sedaca, Freedom House Interim President, and featured closing remarks from Hon. Jovita Neliupšienė, Ambassador of the European Union to the United States.
