Hi Friends, today I wanted to draft a cute shirred top and here is how I did it. You can follow along with the video or if you just want me to tell you here, well.... here it is... the short and simple version!

I cut a piece of fabric 1.5 times my bust measurements (36x1.5=54) I actually folded my fabric in half so I really only cut to 27in but when I open the fabric it's 54in. I cut my fabric the length I wanted it to end up plus allowance for the hem. Since I have a cute border fabric I only added allowance at the top. I cut mine at 17in long. I then cut 4 straps. Mine were cut 15in x 3in. Once I had my pieces cut out I hemmed the top of my shirt leaving a small area where I would sew the sides together after shirring and then I would close the hem then. I went ahead and shirred my top. I did 10 rows of shirring spacing them 1/2in in between. For my straps, I folded them right sides together and sewed a slanted end and then the side. I turned them around and closed the other end and had them ready to topstitch to the top at the end. After trying them on I decided to place them 3in from the center to each direction. ok, back to the top. Once I finished shirring, I placed it right sides together and sewed up the back seam (you can do two side seams if you'd rathe that look) I made sure to finish the raw the edge so it would not fray later. Once that was done, I finished the top hem and attached the straps and that was it!! Quick and easy!!!
