In this video I describe how you can add bands to your Bowflex in order to duplicate the X3 workout system. I believe it's even superior on the Bowflex because it doesn't suffer from the awkwardness and discomfort of wrapping bands around your body as is done with the X3 system.

I started doing this after reading the book by Dr. John Jaquish about how and why he developed the X3 system. He cited many studies that explained why variable resistance was superior to regular weight training. What I found interesting is those studies didn't use his band system which means we can all get those benefits by simply using bands. After trying it I discovered I much prefer the workout I get from the bands to that of the Bowflex rods.
