Did you know that while most people have a longer big toe, about 15-20% have a longer second toe? If you’re one of those people, you may have what’s known as Morton’s toe. Named after Dr. Dudley Joy Morton, this condition occurs when the growth plate of the big toe closes too early, resulting in a shorter big toe compared to the second toe.

In this video, I describe the foot conditions associated with Morton’s toe and discuss effective ways to prevent and treat them such as metatarsalgia, calluses, arch pain, plantar fasciitis, ingrown toenails, and hammertoes.
