Rail Diesel Cars

This video features Budd Rail Diesel Cars (RDCs) in British Columbia, both VIA Rail RDCs on Vancouver Island and BC Rail RDCs near Squamish. These self-powered passenger cars were versatile and used to provide passenger service on branch lines. A few still operate today in Ontario. The last portion of the video shows a "hospital train" of RDCs, I believe on their way to Moncton after purchase by IRSI.

This video was uploaded by Steve Boyko after David's death, on the request of David's widow Pat. She wants to share David's work with everyone. This video was part of the OBE video "Canadian Trains from the Atlantic to the Pacific Volume 1". Apologies for any errors or omissions in the captions.

This video was recorded using a camcorder on VHS videotape and then digitized, so the quality is not as good as David's later work.
