A 30 second video of the C3 contact where the magical few seconds of totality ends and the moon last appears at the edge of the sun producing the effect known as Diamond Rings.

Shot in 4K on a Panasonic GH5 with a vintage Canon FD 135mm lens. The camera is stationary and tilted to show a horizontal path of the sun as it travels across the screen.

Traveling 10 hours from Calgary, Alberta I was in Idaho Falls to witness the complete solar eclipse on August 21, 2017. I brought several cameras, lenses and bags of gear to capture the event. Things were forgotten and things went wrong, however I didn't expect to experience the intensity of emotions that came up. Most of all I felt a stronger connection to my spirituality. It wasn't just what we saw, it was what we felt. The experience is still lingering and the connection is growing.
