2021 was a significant year for food systems transformation and improved nutrition and food safety. It marks the mid-term of the UN Decade of Action on Nutrition (2016-2025) and two significant nutrition related summits will be held; the UN Food Systems Summit and the Nutrition for Growth (N4G).

N4G was hosted by the Government of Japan from 7- 8th December 2021, presenting a significant opportunity to improve nutrition. N4G will foster a growing global momentum to prioritize nutrition by galvanizing commitments from governments, civil society, philanthropic foundations, private sector, donor agencies and the UN to end malnutrition in all its forms.

The N4G thematic working group on Nutrition and Universal Health Coverage has developed a commitment guide for SMART commitments. The thematic session on nutrition in UHC call to action underscore many of the key themes in the commitment guide under the six pillars of health systems. This video is a call for actions on workforce strengthening, financing, nutrition products, health information systems, and leadership and governance in implementing essential nutrition actions in UHC.
