Hobi is called BTS's Golden Hyung. That's because he is multi-talented in many areas.

Taehyung's recent stint at the Dodgers game gave me some BTS x baseball flashbacks. In 2017, Jungkook threw BTS's first-ever opening pitch at a Hanshin Tigers game. Then in 2024, Hobi threw the ceremonial first pitch at Game 2 of the Korean Series.

Since it was held in his hometown Gwangju, Hobi was treated like the prince that he is. We now know that Hobi did an impressive job with that first pitch, but I was so nervous at the time. I mean, he was already confused about which way to go. Hobi going to his position was the longest 7.6 seconds of my life. And him looking nervous added to my already escalating anxiety.

Hobi previously shared how his military juniors were excited to learn that he was doing the first pitch for the 2024 Korean series. And on the day of the event, Hobi made a little confession. Hobi is not much into sports like the rest of BTS. Watch him trying to relate to his members' enthusiasm while watching a game.

Remember when Jungkook threw an imaginary pitch to Hobi during one of their concerts? The ARMY bombs spelled out “hope run” instead of “home run” to celebrate Hobi's birthday. I don't think Hobi got the baseball reference. This reminds me so much of Hobi during the 2025 NBA game. He was very excited to be there, but he looked seemingly lost when the game started.

What impressed me with Hobi is that he doesn't let his lack of ability hinder him from doing his best. And despite not being as athletic as his members, Hobi still manages to excel in some sports. And goalie Hobi was the MVP we didn't expect!
