Want to learn how to play Dan but don't know where to start? Confused by all the combo videos and waffle? Don't know how to SAIKYO good? Well this is the tutorial for you!

In this tutorial I will cover what I believe to be the core beginner combos before going on to learn the trickier hit-confirms and link combos. This is by no means an exhaustive list nor are the combos optimized, the idea is to make them as accessible as possible for a good starting point.

For beginners I recommend using V-Skill and V-Trigger 1. V-Skill 2 is definitely an advanced level technique and the nature of the "just frame" enhanced moves of V-Trigger 2 make it past Beginner level but I still wanted to include some VT2 combos, the ones included still work with regular versions of the moves. Don't forget to taunt cancel every special!
Use M and H Danku to advance, M is safe and can make H safe with taunt on block. L Danku is a great pressure tool! EX Danku is good for catching people unaware and plus on block at max range.

As a Dan main in SF4 I am very happy with Dan in this game. He looks and animates perfectly (JP voice FTW). He has a decent hit-confirm, something didn't have before and pretty good damage. Taunts are key part of his gameplan, that's good game design!
I was hoping for a command grab or at least VT command grab to make his offence scary. I miss the ability to Legendary Taunt KO as you will get regular Super if you try super cancelling into it :( I miss air Dan Knee as well :(
