Agrobacterium Mediated Gene Transfer - Part 1 | Introduction

Описание к видео Agrobacterium Mediated Gene Transfer - Part 1 | Introduction

In this video I have discussed about Agrobacterium mediated gene transfer process in Hindi.
Agrobacterium is a rod-shaped, Gram- negative bacteria found mostly in soil. It is a plant pathogen that is responsible for causing crown gall disease in them.

Agrobacterium tumefaciens is the most commonly studied species in this genus. This bacteria is also known as the natural genetic engineer because of it's ability to integrate it's plasmid Gene into the plant genome.Agrobacterium tumifaciens, a bacterium infects the plants at their stems and transfer a part of their Ti plasmid (tumor inducing plasmid) referred to as T-DNA and this leads to development of tumor in the stem of plant referred to as crown galls, a lump of tumorous cell.
