Wildflower & Pollinator Garden First Year Maintenance - Landscaper Know How ~ Good things happen to those who wait, well that is part of establishing a wildflower garden! We just think wildflower gardens are pretty! Native plantings have so many other benefits than just looking good. Now more commonly referred to as pollinator gardens. They take a little longer to establish from seed. The first-year maintenance is critical to the success of the gardens. Annual and bi-annual weeds are aggressive and need to be controlled. Pulling weeds and cutting them off are the first step in controlling them. Mowing down the garden, in this case I used a string trimmer, is the second method of controlling weeds.
