(( inspired by the k-drama "our beloved summer" - this is the prompt i had in mind while editing this hehe ))

you’re an artist working away at your favourite café while listening to the open mic performances as buffer noise. focused and busy, you don’t notice your ex in front who's next in the queue. you jolt up from the feedback from their mic that forces you both to lock eyes. you hastily look back down out of spite but mostly fear that their eyes would draw you back in. they haven't changed at all but have also changed all at once.

they sing the first line - lyrics they shared with you on a restaurant napkin that one christmas eve. their voice carries you back to a time you thought you had forgotten, a time you still believed in each sweet word. you continue to scribble aimlessly on your paper, trying to ignore this cliché bechanced encounter. in the end, you can't quite pinpoint how you feel - perhaps sadness, pity, or longing, perhaps it's all and everything in between.

now standing in front of you, the feeling is as sure and familiar as ever.

tbh when this dropped, i initially wanted to add it to a christmas-themed "choose your own a(u)dio adventure" edit i had planned BUT i've been so busy w work and didn't have enough time or energy to do them huhu (hence why i also haven't posted in so long). anw, i had to quarantine recently so i decided to finally pick this up again during that time. tae's voice feels so cozy and i got hella butterflies editing this !! i hope you guys like it tooooo : )
