Cab view of the Joshin Electric Railway, a private railway that runs through Gunma Prefecture, from Takasaki to Joshu Fukushima.

The Joshin Electric Railway has a total line length of 33.7 km, and this video covers only half of that, 16.7 km.

In this video, there are very few passengers at the stations, which is almost worrying to watch, but the private railway actually opened in 1897, making it one of the oldest private railways in Japan, with a history of over 120 years.

Along the line there are not only residential areas but also idyllic rural landscapes. September 2024
