BARNEY OLDFIELD’S RACE FOR A LIFE (1913)- Ford Sterling, Mabel Normand, Mack Sennett

Here’s one of those klassic krazy Keystone komedies- “Barney Oldfield’s Race For a Life”! Starring lovely Mabel Normand, dastardly Ford Sterling, dimwitted Mack Sennett, and good old Barney Oldfield himself, the story, “brilliantly skewers every aspect of Victorian melodrama tradition” as Brent E. Walker says in his book, “Mack Sennett’s Fun Factory”. A must watch for silent comedy fans, and one of Sennett’s best films in his early years. Enjoy it here with my ragtime accompaniment!
