These riding shorts are fantastic for road cycling. The quick dry, moisture wicking fabric keeps these bike shorts from sticking to the skin and sweat from causing irritation and swamp butt. The breathable padding in the butt and thigh areas kept hubby from having any soreness or chafing, as well, and giving much needed relief to his bony rear while in cycling position (it seems no matter how padded his bike seat is, he still manages to have a sore hiney after riding even short distances).

It is great for the sun, too... The UPF50+ UV protection keeps his pale, Irish skin from getting sunburned (and thankfully, they are available in tights, as well, so there's full coverage to his legs, too!). The compression material also keep him from building up too much lactic acids in any one area and keep the blood flow moving as it needs while cycling. From experience, they're also handy for beginners to horse riding (primarily bareback). Getting used to it can be rough the first few days, and the padding keeps the soreness away.

The sizing runs snug, due to the fact that they are made of compression materials, but that is normal. If you are uncomfortable with the amount of compression, I would suggest ordering up at least one size if not two.
