After Effects CC 2021: Fill Color Effect

This tutorial will show you how to add fill color to graphics and text layers and how to animate colors over time by adding keyframes to the Color property in After Effects CC 2021.

How To Add Fill Color Effect in Adobe After Effects CC 2021:
1. Open Composition
2. Add Graphics Layer (logo, etc) or Text Layer
3. Select Layer that you want to add fill color
4. Go to ‘Effects & Presets’ panel
5. Search for ‘Fill’
6. Select Generate…Fill
7. Double-click to apply or drag on top of layer
8. The object or text will turn bright red once applied
9. Go to Effects Control Panel and click on color swatch to change color (enter Hex # code, or click Eyedropper to sample colors)

How To Animate Fill Color Effect (change colors on a layer over time)
1. Go to Layers Panel
2. Twirl open layer with Fill Effect
3. Twirl open Effects
4. Twirl open Fill
5. Click Stopwatch next to color
6. Move playhead forward in time and select new color
7. Use Toggle Hold Keyframes (right-click) if you do not want transitions between colors
