[Review] Three Legged Thing Travis Punk Tripod (& Manfrotto comparison!)

Описание к видео [Review] Three Legged Thing Travis Punk Tripod (& Manfrotto comparison!)

If you don't want to watch the whole of this in depth review, here's the TL;DW - the tripod legs are awesome, the tripod head is fine.

I review the Three Legged Thing Punk Travis tripod (and make comparisons to a 12 year old Manfrotto 190XB with 488RC2 ballhead). I've had the tripod for 7 months and used it every single day for over a month in Vietnam, as well as a hiking trip in the Lake District - I've given it a really good go and it's an depth review.

Details: Purchased on sale for £125 (usual RRP £150). Features: max height 1.65cm, folded length 45cm, twistlock legs, removable centre column, 1.6kg weight, maximum load 18kg.

Pros: Tripod legs are fantastic, the tripod itself is a real pleasure to use and it's absolutely feature packed. Can go completely flat, has removable/replacable feet, and is very lightweight while still being fully capable of being a general-purpose tripod.

Cons: Tripod head is a little lackluster - says it can support 18kg, but realistically it's probably best suited to a lighter DSLR or mirrorless camera - my camera is 2.5kg at most and while the tripod is very stable while the camera is mounted, if you want to move it around (like putting it on the tripod over your shoulder) the ball head won't hold it as well as I would like. The grips can sometimes be hard to twist if your hands are damp/sweaty.

Verdict: Very happy with the tripod, just wish the ball head was a bit better/wish you could buy the tripod legs separately.
