Option 1:

No Steam account yet or willing to make a new account

Likely the safest and cleanest in the eyes of Steam to avoid potential ban given your Steam region during account creation will also be US

Steps:

Open VPN (Connect to a US node)

Create your new email

Create Steam account with the new email

Login to Steam client with new account

Go to Lost Ark store page and claim the game by clicking "Play Game"

It should prompt you for EULA agreement, disk space allocation, download

Done!

Option 2:

Has non-US/EU Steam account OR for some reason Steam is detecting the VPN when making a new account and is requiring you to turn VPN off to proceed

Potentially less safe in terms of Steam ban because you are claiming a game which your account's original region has no access to

So if your existing Steam account is something you've put plenty of money and time in, I would highly recommend just making a new Steam account (you don't need to VPN the account creation like Option 1)

Steps:

Open VPN (Connect to a US node)

Login to Steam client

It should prompt you to re-enter password even if you set it to remember prior, indicating VPN is working and Steam detects you're logging from a new location

Visit Lost Ark Steam Store page via browser (do not log in)

Click Play Game button

Choose "Yes, Steam is installed" option

Alt tab to Steam client

It should prompt you for EULA agreement, disk space allocation, download

Pause the download when it starts : 1. Exit Steam, 2. Turn-off VPN, 3. Restart Steam, 4. Resume download
